Protecting Children is a Shared Responsibility

Efforts to protect children in the Emirate of Sharjah stem from a deeply rooted humanitarian vision led by Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, Wife of His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah, who has made child protection and empowerment an integral part of the emirate’s social development journey. Ensuring the safety and wellbeing of children is a shared societal responsibility, and a fundamental pillar in building stable communities capable of growth and prosperity.

Within this framework, the Child Safety Organization works to promote a culture of awareness and prevention across society, guided by its vision: “An Aware Community, A Safe Child.” Through its programmes and initiatives, the Organization seeks to enhance understanding of children’s physical, psychological, and emotional wellbeing, while encouraging preventive practices that protect them from risks, neglect, abuse, and exploitation.

The Organization works in collaboration with government entities and community partners to support initiatives and policies that contribute to child protection and enhance their overall wellbeing. It also designs and implements awareness programmes targeting children, families, and professionals working with them, in a way that reinforces a culture of shared responsibility towards child safety across society.

In line with its institutional and awareness-focused role, the Child Safety Organization does not accept donations from individuals or organizations. It does, however, welcome sponsorships from government and private sector entities that support its mission and contribute to the continuity and expansion of its programmes and initiatives.

At the same time, many members of the community and supporting entities express a desire to contribute to humanitarian efforts aimed at protecting children and supporting the most vulnerable groups. For this reason, the Organization directs those wishing to offer support to the Khalid Bin Sultan Al Qasimi Humanitarian Foundation (KSQF), a non-profit organization established in Sharjah in 2024 under the directives of Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, continuing the legacy of the late Sheikh Khalid bin Sultan Al Qasimi.

The Foundation works globally to protect and empower children in vulnerable communities, focusing on safeguarding children from exploitation and violence, advocating for children’s rights, and strengthening the capacities of communities and institutions to build sustainable child protection systems.

Through these efforts, the Foundation contributes to supporting children who face risks related to exploitation, violence, or the absence of adequate protection systems, working in partnership with international organisations and local communities to help provide safer environments and better opportunities for their future.

Supporting the Khalid Bin Sultan Al Qasimi Humanitarian Foundation contributes directly to enabling initiatives that protect children and provide them with the care, protection, and support they need in the most vulnerable communities.
