The Child Safety Organization and the Khalid Bin Sultan Al Qasimi Humanitarian Foundation:
A Humanitarian Partnership for Child Protection
Child protection efforts in the Emirate of Sharjah are rooted in a well-established humanitarian vision led by Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, wife of Ruler of the Emirate of Sharjah, , who has made the protection and empowerment of children an integral part of Sharjah’s development journey, based on the belief that the safety and well-being of children are a shared responsibility and a fundamental pillar in building safe and stable communities.
Within this vision, the Child Safety Organization and the Khalid Bin Sultan Al Qasimi Humanitarian Foundation come together in a humanitarian partnership that reflects a shared commitment to protecting children and promoting their rights and well-being, while each entity maintains its distinct role and area of expertise.
The Child Safety Organization works to promote a culture of awareness and prevention within the community, based on a comprehensive approach that combines education with psychological and emotional support, and seeks to strengthen preventive practices that protect children from risks, neglect, abuse, and exploitation.
Alongside these efforts, the Khalid Bin Sultan Al Qasimi Humanitarian Foundation, an independent non-profit humanitarian organization established in the Emirate of Sharjah in tribute to the legacy of the late Sheikh Khalid bin Sultan Al Qasimi, works to protect and empower children in the world’s most vulnerable communities.
The Foundation focuses its efforts on protecting children from exploitation and violence, advocating for childhood-related issues, and building the capacities of communities and organizations to strengthen child protection systems, implementing its programmes in cooperation with international organizations and local country partners. This approach helps reach children who are most exposed to risks and strengthens the environments and systems that ensure their protection.
A Partnership with Complementary Roles
The two entities share a common vision for child protection, with complementary roles and areas of work. While the Child Safety Organization focuses on awareness, prevention, and promoting a culture of child safety, the Khalid Bin Sultan Al Qasimi Humanitarian Foundation continues to support and implement humanitarian programmes, protection and advocacy initiatives, and capacity-building efforts targeting children and the most vulnerable communities.
Given the nature of its institutional role, The Child Safety Organization does not accept donations from individuals or organizations. Those wishing to contribute financially to child protection efforts can donate directly to the Khalid Bin Sultan Al Qasimi Humanitarian Foundation, to support its programmes and humanitarian initiatives dedicated to protecting and empowering children.
